A comment

It has come to my attention

That it’s time for intervention

My recent poetic inventions

Were penned with one intention

To address evil slanderous lies

And look my accuser square in the eyes

I am aware I’m up for judgment

And have aroused too much attention

I do not entertain delusions

I know my strengths and weaknesses

(and writing poetry is one of them- the latter)

I do not judge others

I do not berate their artistic expressions

I have a firmer grasp on reality than any of you know

I’m not a great poet. I certainly know it.

But a person must start somewhere for skill and talent to grow

I know my faults better than anyone

I address them every day

I do not think I’m famous

From celebrity- I’m very far away

I sup at the devil’s table

Of this I’m acutely aware

But I had a talk with Jesus-

And for now- he doesn’t care

Because I’m trapped inside a world, right now

In this great country of ours

Where everything has a price tag

And you must sell all with a smile

Our hopes, our dreams our talent our beings

Are the things we give in trade

To live a life of fairy tales

And carry on this great charade

I love everyone and I do not want to spar

I do not wish to change what any of you are

I appreciate all for the way you walk your path

I drink in every poem and story

At times I cry and at times I laugh

We’re all here for the same thing (I think)

To see and to be seen

And we shouldn’t be afraid to risk our self esteem

However . . .

I do not tolerate disrespect
Or attacks upon my intellect
And I will stomp shrews
And smack grizzleys right between the eyes

Blue, I will never mess with YOU--For I know if you stomp me into the ground, I will never be found.

Blue, I COULDN'T say it any better. I know your poetry is GOOD. .

Blue One ...

It is always sad when people can't cut to the chase and see the moment for what it is. Too many hearts get wounded. Of course then change is always met with resistance; for with every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Some people refuse to grow outside of their own personal delusions; too many die in the bubble they have created for themselves. And if growth ever came, their lives would have to change. Sadly, many are unwilling to change.

Sometimes people are afraid to change because in the process they lose much of what they have built for themselves. I have personally been in this place twice in my life. Neither time was any fun, but I'll be damned if I didn't grow and get better.

You are writing with a strength and focus and candor that is refreshing Blue. Keep walking into the Light.

Light and Wisdom ...

A strong message, but the part that we all want and expect is "respect".

There will always be those who will try to make themselves look big by making you look small. We see them for what they are. You are a good poet and you tell it like it is. Write on!

I'm with you 100%. I'll help with the stomping and smacking of bozos who show disrespect. You can't help but pity their ignorance.

Excellant bio in verse with the honesty of a bible and the strength of character of a lion. Well done dear friend.

Look Away Silence by Edward Patterson
