Absolution and Misunderstanding

It takes years to build trust and one moment's suspicion to destroy it. This is a poem about that.

Radiant heat burning between

The distance of our skin

Bodies glowing peach

Fragrant from lust

And dripping with dew

Intermingling me

With the essence of you

Sweet dripping sweat

Scented with your musk

One hair’s breadth’s away?

Or  a million miles

Keeping us apart?

Why?

I swallow, once again

This choaking bitter lump in my throat

And I shift with a heavy sigh

Trying to shoulder the terrible weight

If you only really knew.

If you would only see the truth.

But you refuse to.

And there is nothing that I can say

And there is nothing that I can do

I can only await the day

That

No longer confined

Your enlightened and free spirit

Will come to see and understand

That all of these thoughts from my mind

And the loyalty of my loving heart

And the integrity from within my spirit and my soul

May be difficult to understand

But-  you will see the truth

As it happened  one day.

There was NO betrayal.

Only love.

And so here we are.

Cut the cards. Let us see what brings the day . . .

And the integrity from within my spirit and my soul

To me, this line was very powerul. I am not an expert. I think I know where you are coming from. You could tell that I am wrong. I would/do totally respect you, Blue. Love and peace to you,

Regis
