All that is me
Now swims with the sleek and silver
Scales
Fins
Gills
Apparently requiring
No light
No breath
No ground
Obtaining all that sustains
Through mysterious means
Contained within
This cold dark place
Fascinating to behold
Look at the smoke form
As your warm breath
Mingles with frigid air
Or is it solitary virgin element
And that rock hard boundary
That jails all within its forced pool
Behind a dam of obscure and unusual
Substance
That most observers
Deem as too precious
To excuse
Even a quick lap
A slip of the tongue
An almost undetectable
Flick
Into the streaming
Fragile
Shimmering
Thin
Thread of scarcity
Sweet nectar
With the tartness of the peach’s
Soft skin. Ah . . . to savor
Even so fleetingly
Of a flavor
That I so do love and miss

WOW! One of your best introspections Blu Gurl. An exceptional tapestry with great imagery ("As your warm breath mingles with frigid air") laced together with sound insights.
Hope all is well with you!

Well, look who's here! Welcome home! You've been missed, Blue - haven't seen you in a while. Not having trouble with writing, per se, other things going on - hear you. But this is beautifully penned - I want writer's block like you! LOL Well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

You express your feelings very effectively via your verses here, Blue. I can identify with the "not writing" part. I'm finding inspiration rather elusive of late. Thank you. Love and best wishes,

Regis

the feel of a free fall, tandem suspension in a void, loss, a pain searing like the man in hell begging for a fingertip drip of water from heaven to quench an unquenchable thirst for what is now out of reach ... you always capture it so well and pen it with the sharpest of quills. i am both in awe and humbled.
