A poem about how good things usually come with the bad.

On this path that I travel

I see that I can safely

Seek sanity in the cycles

The place where

For some reason

In the darkest of hours

The ties that bind

In hearts where true love lurks

Prevail over all

And in those dark hours

When all seems lost

Where fear turns into terror

Love unites

And reunites

All is reconsidered

New and wonderful things are sprung

From relationships

Thought soured long ago

Forgiveness brings mercy

Upon aching souls

Healing the wounds

From the thorns

Of rambling vines

Now dead and gone

And blown away like so much dust

All that is left now

Of the residue from angst

Is the part of the truth that matters

And the soothing knowledge

That we have been loving well

You are spot on with this one. Most important sometimes we must forgive ourselves for things in our past. Good write, I enjoyed.
