Lord lord LORD!!
Janelle was a hot little girl
So much so
that I feel ashamed to remember her that way
Dear GOD
She was my aunt by marriage and all
But, aye
The years I guess give me priveledge
As far as I am concerned
To say what I really think
So she married my uncle
At a tender young age
It was so tender it was wrong
I won't go there
It lasted for a long time
But not forever
She bore two fine children
A girl and a boy
But it did not last forever
So down the road she found another
And he worked hard to steal her heart
For what reason is still beyond me
For I can't see
That a loving soul
Is what he would want
The years passed by
With me wondering why
She chose to stay with that guy

Which is a sorry attempt at poetry I know
But we have a line or two to go . . .

He held her hostage
Quite literally
For twenty years (or so)
like it does not matter
He literally held her in fear
She could not escape without dying.
She called me yesterday
And we talked about all of this
Both of us crying.
His business was a little shady
And as it turned out
The little lady
Had to spend about three years in the pokey
She just wanted to love him
To be loved in return
And it became a nightmare
True love gone wrong
And now HE sits in a cage
Only gaining age
And she suffers what the years did to her
And what can I say?
I can only love her
Blandly tell her it's OK
But it's not
It's robbery

If the sun does not shine upon it
It will not thrive

And she suffered from only wanting to love
Be loved
I just don't know sometimes

Blue this poem deeply touched my heart. So well written and heart wrenching.

A sad tale indeed, Blue. My heart missed a beat when I saw "Janelle" in my list of incoming emails (you know that I am tracking you I'm sure). I know a Janelle very, very well. In fact, I haven't told anyone but in my last blog entry, the limericks are all written for/about her. Thank you Blue. I can only hope that "your" Janelle finds happiness somehow. Love and best wishes to you,

Regis

What I enjoy about your style is the way you can move with razor sharp wit and precision, cutting through the patterns and moments of life as a surgeon does with steady hand and experienced eye, balanced in where, how and why you will present, and leave your readers with the feeling that they have just visited with a dear friend. Your words take us by the hand, joyful walk in the field, a little tour down a rabbit trail, light-hearted fun, a little story to tell on the stump, and then there it is --- in the middle of all the seeming ease of the summer breeze, the majestic heart of nature moves deeply in words woven by a master crafter, bringing forth a well-spring of emotion and a point about life itself, so great that to miss it would be like missing the birth of a new born child .... Here's to you and all that you do, and all you will do, and that's not just my heart talking....

Love is a messenger, sometimes, don't you think? Misconceptions are in lockdown and statistical gray bars are no props on the stage of life - it's reality. Hooking up with the wrong love lets one realize years later, there were exits from the stage, the only legal way out is to go through the audience - best to pack up your props and indicate the show has ended and thank everyone individually for allowing one to make voice and posture Truth. Precision is moving the plot of life forward and filling every moment with content, keeping the audience engaged within the parameters of honesty. Let Freedom Ring!...

Yours,
Sage

Yes Blue it is sad sometimes that life can rob the years aways so easily from ones who love but are not loved in return. We are often all too helpless to do an ything and can only pray that somewhere they will find the happiness they should have.
