Once upon another time

my story had no end

Tomorrow held no promise,

yesterday wasn’t my friend

You came, turned a new page,

wedged your love into my plot

Wrote me in some good days

punctuated me without stops

Leave the roses in the garden,

whisper to me in flowers

Celebrate me with your lips,

champagne can’t take me that far

Sing my name, strum my  heart,

compose me with your hands

Carry me into your song,

edit me with romance

Once upon another time

my story had no spice

Today it’s full of promise

with you here in my life

Erase the world around us

Be all I’ll ever need

Dance me into tomorrow

My heart is yours to keep
