Can you describe him?
Who?
The love of your life.
No, not really.
Can you try?
What - to touch the sky? Catch a shooting star as it flies by?
Catch the moon as it bathes in a celestial lagoon?
Well, do you think you might..
What? Explain how his light held me eternally tight - not just on waking, but through every night?
But you said he was your Tower...
Yes, I know… and he was my tower of absolute strength,
but one day he held me at length
as I watched him helplessly fall prey to all that was grey.
To save myself I had to get away,
so I left - still loving him - to save his heart
from breaking in two as I fell apart.
Describe him to you? No, I don’t think I can - accept to say that when I knew him, he was a wonderful man.
But you said you would never leave him...
And I never did. How could I leave someone who resides within me, who is a part of myself, bound eternally by love?
And love cannot die - we simply move on to survive,
and though I won't know again
the person that buried himself in his pain.
I take comfort in knowing that I was loved beyond wealth; beyond life itself.
How will you survive?
Good Question, and one I have often asked myself…
I will survive, on the power of love, which is part of us all; our souls only call.
Though I hope in my heart that I'll love again.
And one day recover from this sorrow and pain.
