Machine vs Man

by Lloydene F Hill — Read all 32 poems by Lloydene F Hill

My feeling about technology run amok. Work in progress!

Thursday, February 8, 2007

Squares, circles, mazes, cold, cold, electric faces.

Vast and lonely, empty spaces, cold wind, and black places.

Heartless machinery drumming a tune, the world lies devastated and ruin.

I wish I wasn't here all alone,  the machine makes a sound like the dying when they moan.

Cogs, rivets, nuts and bolts, everything here is full of electric jolts.

The machines around me begin to take holt, and in the blackness my mind and body begin to float.

Going crazy in this place of darkness and empty space.

Here there's a vastness I can't believe, and a quiet that I can't conceive.

Metal, tapes, programmed monsters, they killed their masters, leaving only one to finish off, and complete this disaster.

I'm the last one, but I'll be dead before long, I've know I've got to go, but to take them with me, I must be strong.

I'll kill the monsters and before they get me and turn melt my mind into their metallic sea.

Here I go now, the overcharge, the mega overload, now I'll blow up their metallic abode.

Oh no, what's that, what is happening to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

"Machine vs Man" stimulates good sense in our society, and calls for a balance of attitudes.

I like the imagery and the rhythm of this composition; its poetic voice, contents and message.

Thank You for posting Your treasures.

In admiration,
