This is an inspiring poem about the need to compete and with whom we should really be competing...Enjoy!
If Indeed I Must Compete By h. lena jones If indeed I must compete Let it be against myself I�ll always keep on trying To outdo my very best! Competing against another Does not show my best I might beat them on their worse day So that doesn�t prove my best! You see my real potential Whatever that might be Is found when I insist On competing against myself! If perchance I must compete With someone besides myself I�ll use Jesus� standard as my example And compare myself to Him. �For I have given you an example That you should do as I have done to you.� John 13:15 So let�s not compete against each other Let�s compete against the standards Jesus left for us.

Dear Lena, I promised to visit with each of my trackers, and that includes you. It seems so long since you posted anything on AD, but I'm sure you are busy about the Father's business.
There is good advice in this poem; many reasons why we should look at Jesus, not at people. He is the gold standard!

Perfectly beautiful, perfectly true.

Oh Lena, I too, dream...of what it would be like, if everyone just operated inside their own gift, and was happy doing it to their very best!

It is written "Contentment with godliness, is great gain." I teach it to my grandchildren...Thank you for this jewel.

Beautiful poem. I can't compete with Jesus. I would always come out a very poor loser so I will keep competing with me. I might compete against myself the day after I had a bad day and thereby win.
