Can find so little Thought in time,
Cruel blintzes hating all contemplation;
None say words of sense,
Only ravages of emotion!
Middle Class Values reign as Law,
Crippling what calculation discerned;
Stupidity possessing the majority vote!
Ancient Rules of Order determine
The Idiocy of the Ages should remain;
While Genius left to rot.
Libraries evolve into repositories
Of the ludicrous inane,
Pontifying twisted regalia'
Truth a winged predator on a death list!

Your words and thoughts are like treasures bold explorers try
to claim for their queens with undying faith
through strange, uncharted earth and sky.
Whew! This was a little tough on me (sometimes, free verse tends to SCUD me!) although WHAT it says is quite good. If the 9 upsets you, zap it, 'cause I'm not qualified to authoritatively critique free verse (maybe not even lyric verse!).
Do you teach more than one grade level?
