Path of True Love

The real walk of life.

Sweet lines winnowed wild,
Expressing physical lust eternal
As internal beauty non-Aging;
A sorry statement,
Love reduced to nothing
Beyond a slight after-glow
Of a glorious coupling.

Where is the advance of Truth,
Of simple and regular
Day-to-day boredom?

Words of Romance cant no sense
Of the true path of Love,
Daily Irritants habitually foiled;
Basis only
For easier breath;
Not great fantasy of Joy,
No wonderous culmination of Dream.

Cold reaction only,
Not governed by Passion;
Propelled by mutual interest.

Great fanfare early abandoned
In the non-fire of shared Tasks;
One trusting the Other
Through long practice,
One understanding the Other,
Each knowing the next move
Clinging together for safety.

This path is one of the many faces of love that we embark upon with good intentions. There are so many obstacles that distract and wear upon the skin of passion and romance until a union becomes one of routine and security. Love remains if it is not damaged by one or the other, but it becomes a daily challenge to keep the eyes open and focused upon the path of true love so that the passion does not fade.

True love so rare. You know it is in the air, but you can't see it or touch it, you can only feel it. Bill Murray

Very well done...but on this path...I hope those travelling it may still find a perfected flower or two...even if but for awhile.
