Big Children

For every true mother who genuinely nurtures - and disciplines - from a heart filled with love and justice, there are thousands who stunt children through selfish ambition.
To which I say, Beware.. of hindering, love.

 

Little Children
believe..
With all their
hearts..
What they are
Told.

Little Children
have..
No power to
reason..
Beyond what
they see, hear
And experience.

Little Children
suffer..
When they are
neglected and
rejected..
But have no
understanding
As to.. why. 

Little Children
react..
To cruelty and
Abuse..
Something
deep inside
fragments..
And dies.

Little Children
grow..
In physical stature
Though their minds
and emotions..
Do not
Grow with them.

Big Children
are..
Just Little Children
all grown-up, and
Afraid to love.

 

But when Jesus saw it, He was much displeased, and said unto them, Allow the little children to come unto Me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.  - St. Mark 10:14

Yes, the children are our future and must be nurtured well.

Those that live out their failed lives through their children are a concern of mine. And for those children who excel with or without their parents' permission, I applaud.

There is talent and genius in every one. Parents should not decide what that should be. Only the inner voice of the child should be listened to.

The human mind is not programed to receive abuse and neglect at any age but especially the little ones who cannot grasp the why of it.

Being afraid to love is indeed a consequence that stems from abuse and neglect, it is not a shortcoming of children, large or small. Very insightful, Rhonda, and told with honesty.
