A Searching Soul

I'm holding my soul in my hand...

I'm holding my soul in my hand,
a collection of trials and tribulations,
never finds silence, harmony and contentment,
a lost spirit searches for a place, a homeland.

Lost...searching...looking for pleasure,
off track and struggles to keep from drowning,
love, family, friends...nothing brings fulfillment,
I buy houses, cars, and unseen treasures,

thinking they will bring motivation,
and fill the hole growing deeper in my core.
Work is more important than anything,
a locomotive in full power-driven motions.

Nothing eases the bareness inside my being,
a lost spirit craves moral fiber,
this vacany causes tenderness and agony,
grows to a point of foreboding and seething.

One morning, a shaft peeps through my window,
kisses my shut eyes to unlock my vacant being,
I see and feel His Almighty radiance attach itself to my heart,
I reach out...take His hand...accept the rainbow He provides.

Retired and on disability so don't buy autos or large things no more. Am a searching soul each day and with Tom's soul going along with me everywhere I can abide this living and not leaving to go with him. It's hard somedays, but have to search my sould each day to see what I should do.

Oh thank heavens, Barbara, you found Him in the last verse! Phew! Now that you're holding His hand, don't ever let go. I'm holding on to Him too...He's the "bestest" friend and teacher we can have. :)
Enjoyed this one.

God Bless
Much love

Dear Barbara,
How well you tell us what we are so slow to admit, "...the bareness inside my being, a lost spirit."

A lovely poem, Barbara with such vivid imagery, "...a locomotive in full power-driven motions..." and "...accept the rainbow He provides."

Through your words we know His radiance.

A blessing.
Richard

"A Searching Soul"
Such a beautiful and heart touching write to me.
I love the different ways that you speak about the love of the Father. For we know he is the true one that fulfills us.
"I reach out...take His hand...accept the rainbow He provides."
Simply divine!

Sincerely,
From the Heart...
