Hardships seek my soul,
leaves me helpless and a shell.
Days and nights keep me waiting,
needing a word or a sign...
a glimmer of light to ease the pain,
freeing me from the shackles holding me prisoner.

I'm alone...
I wait for what You promise in Your word,
a ray of hope...
God's breath blows into my soul,
a blessing of forgiveness of my sins,
lifts me up to feel His presence.

Gusts Cling to me like a kite in the wind,
coldness of the air bites at my soul,
a spirit without hope,
tries to find eternal peace.
A ray casts its beam upon my heart,
I feel the warm breath of God within my body.

Joy robs the sadness of my spirit,
fills me with a warmness never felt before.
I've been touched by the spirit of God
as He cleanses my body...
I reclaim my mind, body, and soul
as I'm filled with His Holy Spirit.

May the joy of God's blessings touch each of you AD members as we face a new year. May each of you find happiness and feel the love others feel for you in their hearts...reach out and touch someone's life this year.

Good advice to reach out and touch someone's life this year. I don't know who I'll touch with my thoughts and ideas or with my love at all but I do know God is in my heart and God is love and I find him more of a comforter each day.

Hi Barbara, welcome back!

Your heartfelt poem reminds me of the expression, "out of the darkness into the light". You have shown in your poem that God heals all pain and it is by our love and faith that we are able to claim his blessings.

Dear Barbara, Your poem is moving me as I understand pain and suffering. It is only His spirit which can erase the pain and suffering which human beings can feel. I know it from my own experience. But everything can chalenge us again particularly from other humain beings. It is our duty to stay calm and without any reaction to what is coming at us from the outside. It is also our duty to occupy ourselves only with positive and good deeds. Writing is one of them. Brava, you have expressed those feelings in a great way. Love Emile

How delightful to see your name in my mailbox after so long. I can see that last year was a challenge for you also. Many I have talked to lately tell me 2008 was not one of their best years. I have to agree with them. Hopefully, 2009 will be the best one ever.

Your piece is refreshingly honest and transparent and touched me. Blessings to you dear Barbara, and may this coming year reflect your most quintessential inspiration.
Blessings ...
