This poem was inspired while the writing of my book Breathe Again..as I realized the powerful tool that we all possess..our minds.

I am told that a mind is a terrible thing to waste….

I hear it is the home of great doctors, scientists and some inventors

An origination of dynamic lawyers, prolific speakers and inspiring mentors.

From the mind is the evolution of planes that take off in flight;

To the discovery of electricity that supplies mankind with light.

With our minds we absorb knowledge, obtain wisdom and create solutions..

A place where we can distinguish reality and separate it from delusions.

With our minds we have imaginations that takes us on great adventures to live our fantasies

Where we dance on clouds, climb tall mountains and swim the most troubling seas.

Our mind is a secret dwelling place where we store our most inner thoughts

A place of refuge and security with escapes to salvation and where all adversity must halt.

A place where you can choose life or destroy it with out cause…

A place to shun evil or to destroy every law.

A powerful tool, a gift from God, a virtual weapon

A resource to do great things or a playground for Satan.

A mind allows you to read, gives you thought and let you wonder

A mind arrives at theories, forms opinions and creates points to ponder.

A mind can be opened and be filled with priceless treasures…

A mind can store memories and reflect times that brought pleasure.

Oh what a blessing to have such a tool in our possessions

A gift given at birth to use at our sole discretion.

A terrible thing to lose, to go un-nurtured…a terrible thing to waste;

We must educate and utilize our minds, make a difference and do it without haste.
