Poem was written for my grandson Robert now on his way to Australia
Flight of Thought
You are thousands of miles away
Could read it’s the end of the day
Those endless seas and mists of fog
Rather hold with you a dialogue!
Your plane touches down at Brisbane
Meets its reflection after rain
Then crosses over to the gate
To search a face behind glass plate
Remembering and arriving
Memories are still clinging
Mixture of sadness and adventure
Into this new world you enter
Adventures deep within your soul
Embrace them make them your goal
As you bounce with each step new
Feel the wind blow through you
You’ve touched my life I really care
Remember the good times we share
Think about laughter wipe away tears
You have miles to go and many years
With you - you take a bit of my heart
Go forward this day make new start
Though it may not be the way it used to be
You’ve scattered sunshine permanently
A beautifully written hearfelt poem to you missing your grandson. Always hurts a little when the young spread their wings to follow their dreams. Enjoyed.
In a post-coup America, an Illinois farm boy is drawn into the resistance by his brother's death. Captured, he is given a choice: betray his friends, or the girl he loves will be lobotomized.
Married ten years, and more in love than ever, Robert and Marcie have everything to live for. But a terrible secret is breaking Robert's heart: he knows that Marcie is about to die...
Be safe,
Karen
Prayers for the journey, and for you--powerful longing in this excellent write; well done!
