A poem is the music of thought conveyed to us in the music of language
Music of Thought In the velvet softness of the night In stages of intensity I will find myself a quiet place A place of silent serenity To sift through the varying shades Of whims that I should thread A song or verse from behind The shutters of closed eyelids There behind its veil of fantasies Born of intellect and coloured dreams Music of thought moves in shadows To dance in moonlights brightest beams Flights of fancy chase and capture Thoughts that breathe in the night To the music of shadows rapture Are words that burn in the light!
