Stargazing

when you gaze at stars

don't think of them as

thousands of light years

away from Earth and you

the stars are one with you

made by the same Creator

who flung a myriad of them

from his divine fingertips

the same word, same power

that formed you before birth

also formed those stars that

twinkle in a black velvet sky

dynamic atoms of connection

between you and the celestial

watching you as you watch them

align your spirit with their beauty

be thankful for God's lamps

so far away and yet so near

glittering in silent splendor

inspiring human fascination

all of creation is one

all things created in sync

to hold-fast the sanctity and

beauty of life, here and there
