Gays and lesbians, why do you rage,
And fill our land with such hate?
What is your grievance, do make your case,
Why can you not debate?
Have you no gratitude? Have you no knowledge?
You seem to have no sense.
You fail to recognize if not for us,
Your perils would be immense.
If I was a Muslim, I’d sever your head,
Or blow up your family and friends.
If I was a fascist, I’d burn down your city,
Your livelihood, I would end.
If I was a liberal, I’d sue you with lies,
Deceptions and slanders I’d told.
But because I’m a Christian, I’ll tell you the truth,
And humbly plead for your soul.
You falsely accuse me of your bitter hate,
You charge me with merciless blame.
You spew vicious lies, rejecting all truth,
And mock my God to your shame.
But if you are happy, so pleasant and kind,
And if your spirit sheds light,
Why do you hideously rant and parade,
And claim that grave sin is your right?
Why can you not see, why have you not tried
To find peace and comfort, if you’re justified?
Misery and suffering, do dwell in your heart,
How do I know this? They once tore me apart.
I cannot surrender the truth for a lie,
Or pretend not to know in sin you will die,
I’m not your problem, one day you will see,
Your sin is your trouble; repentance the key.

Look Away Silence

Martin Powers wanted an ironing board for Christmas. Instead, he got . . . Matthew Kieler, a non-returnable gift, but a gift that kept on giving. A powerful tale of survival, compassion and unapologetic love in the time of AIDS. |
