Words cannot express, my thanks to you
'Cause you always did, what you had to do
And even when, I abused your trust
My loyal friend, you never fussed

When I over indulged, and so many times
Behind the scene's, you held the lines
From young to old, you never altered
You gave me life, and never faltered

I cannot see you, you have no face
But you're always there, steady in pace
Always working from dusk to dawn
A reliable friend, I depend upon

You cannot hear, you cannot see
Yet still, you try so hard for me
I didn't help you, I must confess
But still you stayed, and did your best

But i'm old and grey now, it's the final bell
And if you had a hand, I would shake it well
So it's farewell my friend, now we must part
So I thank you for everything, my fine little heart

Gerald,

You make us wonder who the friend is until the very friend. Funny, how much we can abuse our bodies and still our hearts forgive us...usually. God Bless You.
