It was a rainy night back in 62
As we watched the fireworks on the lawn
Then someone screamed, and to our fright
Appeared a rather scary Leprechaun

'What brings you here on Halloween night?'
Someone shouted from the crowd
'Why, i'm lost and lonely,' the Leprechaun said
'But i'll stay if i'm allowed'

Now everyone knows how Leprechaun's lie
He was clearly up to no good
Cause a Leprechaun; he will steal your soul
And on this, be ye not misunderstood

He would watch the fireworks, he exclaimed
Then he'd trot off on his merry way
But everyone that night trembled with fear
He could not be allowed to stay

So we pretended to be kind to him
And welcomed him with a, 'How do ye do.'
But we sneaked behind as he watched the show
Tied a rocket to the end of his shoe

It was just as he tried to cast a spell
That the rocket took off, and did fly
And the Leprechaun, he was seen no more
Just a twinkle in the dark Halloween sky

But do take heed next Halloween time
If you see a Leprechaun in sight
Cause he won't be fooled a second time
And he may take you with him in the night
