If Only

by Patricia P Sims — Read all 10 poems by Patricia P Sims

This is a Christmas Poem and wish for a better world on Christmas Day if only for one day.

Friday, November 18, 2016

IF ONLY…
If only it could be a Silent Night
No ambulance sirens
Or police cars with flashing lights.
A night so still, free from crime
A Holy Night of
Love Divine.
If upon The Midnight Clear
Glad tidings would ring so dear
Wars would cease
As guns and weapon we lay down
Reminiscent of Bethlehem Town.
If there was Joy to The World
Every person would be free as banners unfurled
Hailing the Savior’s birth
Granting every soul Peace on Earth
If Only

Those song titles, alone would make the world much better. But you're weaving them into a poem, makes them all the more, valuable.
