If I swam the sea and walked through fire and ice just to hold your hand

Would it tell you how I yearn, how deeply I want to be your man

If I bought you diamonds for your neck and expensive pearls for your wrist

Would it prove that when you leave me I'm lost and your soul I miss

If I told you I see visions of us walking the sunset of Petit Tabac in white sand

And private dinner for two with the finest wine to the tune of an Oriental band

Does that make you know that this is no lie, I am for real with each word I say

And if I sent you love notes on fine linen, with roses each hour for the rest of the day

Along with expense paid visits to your favorite boutiques to fill your special delight

Would that make you understand that to win your heart, there isn't a war I wouldn't fight

And if I redirected your mail so that I could receive all of your bills to pay

Is that enough to show my inner self, show you that I'm willing to be taken as your prey

If I wrote you poetry extolling your highness, sonnets to praise your voice and eyes

Would you then realize the chance that I offer to serve you, my heart without disguise

Imagine romance for the rest of your days at a level only seen in the movies by many

Would you then see how my heart beat is only to let me find ways to put you above any

If I loved you the way you dreamed all your life, taking time to learn your every detail

Would the pureness of my intentions be noticed, would the sincerity of me be unveiled

If I did all this, would you see that it is just a simple man trying to show his heart to you

And that if you could read hearts, I'd let you read mine so you could see that it is so true

But since you can't, if I show you by offering all that I own, including all of my soul

Would that make you my lady, willing to take this ride with me, even when we're old

How beautiful, charming, and expensive...even when we are old...I love this piece...Because it sacrifices all for love.
