Simple little things,
words,
yet so effective
when strung together
into a poem
breathing romance,
fading loneliness,
all within the lines
in pastel strokes
and joined together
in just the right way.
A writer’s thoughts,
whether fact or fiction,
become another’s hopes
and words find their way
to a reader’s heart
as surely as petals
dropped in a forest
mark the way back home.
I love you’s bloom
only to fade
by truths revealed
in yet more words.
Can we fall in love
through poetry?
I believe we can,
and it all happens
through the naiveté
of words.

It is amazing how words are so effective, but they are. I really liked this poem, because it made me think, what would we feel if there were no words? When joined together properly, words can bring us to some amazing revelations, but, also can lead to serious misunderstandings. Wonderful poem, CJ.
The unique thing about poetry, IMHO, is poetry betrays the true character of the poet. The more prolific the poet, the more he/she has to say about themselves. Bits and pieces conglomerate to make a whole and the poet cannot but reveal the self. Hence, poetry can bloom a romance and it can also fallow the ground on which it grows. And yes, it is all accomplished with those words, so simple but dynamic and telling. A very astute(that's my big word for today)poem CJ
I must agree with you whole heartedly on this one, I have read poems of a romantic nature written by others who I know stirred my heart enough that yes I wanted to reach out to them and hold them in my arms if it were possible. You have captured the romance and magic of what a great poem can do to touch a spark from writer to reader....
