Another serious piece, this. Experimenting with different types of beats, I find that certain cominations of loops, samples and random sounds create an ambience that virtually writes the poem that accompanies it. This is an example of that. The beat just drove me, as I listened to it, images of 'forbidden love' came to mind, and the poem and vocals just flowed from the heat of the beat composition. The artwork reflects one type of forbidden love (not all), and is by a wonderful artist named Alaina Gonzalez that I found on the net. The audiopoetic link is below the text, so enjoy the listen!

Poem Artwork

Tossing,
turning.

Late at night,
a cold fever burning.

In my heart,
in my soul,
wanting you has made me bold.

Sing the song of forbidden lust.
Dance the dance of broken trust.
Your love,
my desire,
births a storm that fans the fire of
hearts aflame in the dark of night,
souls in synch seeking out the light.
It’s forbidden love,
forbidden love,
It’s forbidden love,
forbidden love.

It’s from God above
or the Devil below,
we’re only human so
how can we know?

All that I can say is that
you’re the way through the
darkest pit or the
highest heights
If this is wrong
I don’t want to be right.

Sing the song of forbidden lust.
Dance the dance of broken trust.
Your love,
my desire,
births a storm that fans the fire of
hearts aflame in the dark of night,
souls in synch seeking out the light.
It’s forbidden love,
forbidden love,
It’s forbidden love,
forbidden love.

Living,
learning.

Tempting God
because my soul is yearning.

For your gentle touch
and your soulful kiss,
it’s so hard for me to keep
living like this.

Sing the song of forbidden lust.
Dance the dance of broken trust.
Your love,
my desire,
births a storm that fans the fire of
hearts aflame in the dark of night,
souls in synch seeking out the light.
It’s forbidden love,
forbidden love,
It’s forbidden love,
forbidden love.

In the moments of our iniquity
I find peace and solace
from the storm,
the trials and travails of life
give way to the peace and comfort
of your presence,
you are my peace,
my refuge and my support.
In you, I see the reflection
of myself as I desire to be,
and a soul that soars
as high as my own as we share
this forbidden love.

Sing the song of forbidden lust.
Dance the dance of broken trust.
Your love,
my desire,
births a storm that fans the fire of
hearts aflame in the dark of night,
souls in synch seeking out the light.
It’s forbidden love,
forbidden love,
It’s forbidden love,
forbidden love.

I feel this every lonel night so instead I decide to review until my eyes goes weak and sleep befalls me to not think about the lust and passion that is not here right now. A forbidden love that a writer and only a true writer can write about.

Well-done!! Love the rhythm and the way you have used repetition
to drive home your point. Art's great, too. ~~ This reminds me of the 40's # goes "If it's a sin, I am guilty." Got a great tune. Ever hear it? Can't think of the name. . .and I was there. Hmmm. Maybe that's why I forget. . .;) Thanks for a great time, 'Pea' <3

I always admire your talents. I noticed the shape that the 'chorus' lines seem to make. It reminds me of a hurricane...or something out of control that could 'topple' at any moment...

Your work's always superb, Mark. I couldn't help but think of a recent post in my Goddessblogs while reading this, "Under the Influence of an Untenable Love," (notes and comments more than the main post), and I hope you saw The Tablets of Oshunari. You will be linked in chapter 2.
Enjoyed listening to your audiopoetic. ;-) I see what you mean about the beats.

You are truly gifted! Methinks sometimes we place too much
guilt on forbidden love.;-)Love is so beautiful...

Forbidden Lust - something many have pondered, obsessed over, been driven mad by, sold their souls for, and written about, Mark - and you've penned a very good one here.

When we want someone bad enough, it does make us bold! And when it is forbidden lust, it makes us want it all the more. I have actually meditated on why forbidden love is forbidden and it made me want it all the more, a fire that makes the heart dance with an insatiable flame. It does help to put it in poetry, Mark! These lines of Forbidden Love are bold. I have a feeling this isn't the end of this style of write for you. Be looking for your next one. I like the versatality in your work lately. The different styles showcase your ability to crossover. It is what a poet of today has to do to keep their audience's attention and keep it fresh. The audio presentation compliments this work. This audio is a tone poem of mentorship, acknowledging someone you see as a lust factor and also that of a spiritual soulmate in a world of forbidden love that cuts across racial barriers of black and white. It has shades of the late Marvin Gaye, the romantic songster poet. I truly hope you are putting together a CD. To be able to write, sing, and narrate your poetry as spoken word significantly categorizes you as multi-faceted, multi-talented. You can work out the marketing details later. Good work, Mark.
