Just Another Day

Well, the past month has been something else. The death of my Grandmother, failure at the academic and personal level, and general instability and unease has been difficult to handle. But, through it all, the days themselves have remained constant. The sun rises, and sets, the moon still comes out. I guess it's when things are at their most traumatic that you come to appreciate the little things. Love seems to be the only constant, and the only thing worth pursuing in life. I could be wrong...and if I am, I'm sure my authorsden family will tell me. This is my first audiopoetic in a while now, so I hope y'all enjoy... ;-)

Just another day.

Just another day,
around the way.

Slow walks and deep talks.
Ringtones singing,
fly girls blinging.

You and me are meant to be!
Girl, can’t you see?
Lips so nice, taste so sweet,
hips all that and an ass so fat!
There ain’t a day that passes by,
your hips got a sway that catch my eye.
Fineness stacked up so tight,
Girl you looking mighty right,
Girl you do be out of sight,
Girl won’t you be mine tonight.

Cause it’s just another day
around the way, I heard you say!
What’s so special about you,
can all I’m feeling be true ?
A lasting love,
what’s so special about you?
Can all I’m feeling be true ?

Kicking back and staying black,
hanging out without a doubt.
Wondering why life’s the way it is,
pondering how to be about my business.
Making a path through all the drama,
trying to be real and work off my karma.

Black hats and cold gats.
Roughnecks screaming,
hotties creaming.
Living like we on BET,
swinging it like ‘we’s’ really free!
Free to be.
Seems to me
like the game is set to put us down,
like the same ol same’s done gone around,
like the frame up’s pain, can ya hear the sound,
of pounding hearts,
don’t get me started
just hold me tight and treat me right.
Don’t do me like my name is Mike.
Cause baby, I’m all yours tonight.

Cause it’s just another day
around the way, I heard you say!
What’s so special about you,
can all I’m feeling be true ?
A lasting love,
what’s so special about you?
Can all I’m feeling be true ?

Brown eyes and black hair,
opening doorways to everywhere.
You know me like nobody else,
with you I feel like somebody else.
Your voice is smooth like Di saronno sour,
I share my life, give you the power
to mark our paths into the light,
to use my skills to make it right.

You do me like nobody can,
I’ve worked so hard to be the kind of man
to make you proud,
I shout out loud and hold you tight.
And close my eyes as we take flight
into days undreamed and nights sublime,
I’ll never stop.
Until you’re mine.

Cause it’s  just another day
around the way, I heard you say!
What’s so special about you,
can all I’m feeling be true ?
A lasting love,
what’s so special about you?
Can all I’m feeling be true ?

I've been scarce and did not know of the passing of your grandmother, Mark, and other troubles. Sorry to hear these things. AS always, your poetic works are an enjoyable and provocative read.

No wonder I haven't heard from my dear kaka in a while. Pole sana, kaka. Soo sorry about the turmoils you have had to go through and for the loss of your Grandma - may she rest in eternal peace.

I'm a great believer that everything happens for a reason. Inhale, meditate and pray for insight. I also believe that sometimes we need the up and down in life to remind us that God is there - and to appreciate the little things He's given us.

Just keep your head up and keep your faith stronger.

God bless, Mark!

Sandie.

If life were easy, there would be little point to it. Once we learn the lesson, it is time to move on to the next challenge, failure is just another word for "try again." We grow stronger with each attempt and through our developed wisdom, we learn that it really doesn't matter how we are graded by others, but in how we grade ourselves and how we are graded by God, in the end, that matters. As Mother Teresa so wisely said "...It was never between you and them anyway" Still, I will say to you, Mark, that I am so very sorry for the loss of your grandmother and all of the difficulties that you have had to face. Like the phoenix, you will indeed rise from the ashes...you are nothing close to a quitter and you know it as well as the rest of us know it. If you feel the need to back off for a bit to regroup and regain your cadance, then by all means do so, but quitting is just not an option. Love is the most important thing that we do and the guiding light through the densest of fogs that make it difficult for us to navigate our lives. A very strong and profound write.
Take care,
Sherry
