it drips down, as if from the ceiling
i watch it as it spreads into my pillow
wetting the fabric of my sheets
around me

it spreads father and soon, i am wet too
these buckets of ocean water
fall from above and soak
everything around

and with each falling drop
i find a new rip in the folds of my soul
i feel myself dying with each passing
rain drop

and i am drenched with this false rain
the largest shower of my life
falls around me trying to drown me
almost succeeding

it breathes my name
whispers from falling drops surrounds me
calls out to me, and somehow
i ignore

...the taste of tears reminds me of being out in the rain, alone once, when someone broke my heart...
