i have the flu... i was taking a nap... sort of, and this is what i wrote in my head...

there is a place in sleep
right before you are gone to the world
just before you wake to dawn
where your dreams are the sweetest
simply because you are asleep
and in the morning
you remember this sweet dream
and when you are woken,
just before sleep
you remember you were thinking
something great
dreaming something wonderful
but as soon as you think it
you forget it
and the dream is gone
i woke up this morning
remembering that i forgot that
i had one of those dreams
and i saw you today
and i knew you were there
with me, in that dream
and i smiled
and i knew i was in love
because you were in my dream
the dream i don’t remember
but i remember that you were there
that is something i cannot forget
