“Our Love Drops like a feather”

Our love drops like a feather
Where once the heart beat fast and furious
It is an emotion awaiting the sound of a pin drop
So little is forthcoming in that laborious wait
Where once the anxious body ached in want
It now feels the aching of a lonely teardrop
While trickling along a too familiar highway

Our love drops like a feather
Where once it was sleek and slippery in time
It now has slowed down to a torturous crawl
The sound of each others voice is muffled
Lost in the shuffle of dreaded slow motion
Where hours turn into days and days add up
Without the reassurance that love was alive

Our love drops like a feather
As it falls to earth in an endless trail of tears
Where today turns into the silence of tomorrow
Scraping the clock on its downward spiral
Bruising the fragile hands upon striking two
Fracturing time as if it were a stale candy
Where nothing could ever be the same again

Our love drops like a feather
While light as it floats in space and time
Heavy is its cry for what it once was
Laced on its fringes by those who wait
To take their place in the cold aftermath
The door is open but it is frozen in place
While everything else is lost in the shuffle

Amor, Have we not all felt this, those who were fortunate
in love finding them...simply Beautiful!

Always,

Your poem may account for your absence from posting. I sense a certain loss of desire, either through time or real loss and this poem makes me sad. Perhaps some kind of emotional Viagra will bring your passion back to your verse? Still, your emotes quite well.

TRUE LOVE IS WHAT REMAINS AFTER THE PASSION AND LUST COOLS AND REVEALS THE 'REALITY' OF TWO PEOPLE ATTEMPTING TO BUILD A LIFE TOGETHER. AND SO THE QUESTION IS; WAS IT LOVE OR JUST A BEAUTIFUL ENCOUNTER WHICH WAS ALWAYS DESTINED TO END? PERMANENT RELATIONSHIPS ARE NOT EASY, 'TWO' MUST 'FIGHT' FOR IT AND WITH GOD AS THEIR STRENGTH THEY CAN DO IT. FOR, IN THIS WORLD, WAS CAN LAST WITHOUT HIM? THANKS FOR THE SHARE, ARMOR. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

When Amore visits the land of amore, magic happens.
I have found more bowling balls than feathers there,
but when the right one comes along, love indeed floats
like a feather. Super write!

I heard it quoted once that composing a poem, or a book of poetry, is like dropping a rose petal down the Grand Canyon and waiting for the echo. Certainly food for thought. You've conjured a delightful resonant piece that easily found a place in my spirit. Well done. rlc
