HOW THE STORY ENDS

by:  Linda Law

If loneliness meant we'd be safe from harm
If loneliness meant we'd have no shame
If loneliness meant we'd have no blame
If loneliness meant there would be no pain
Then....I don't want to know how the story ends...

If I never tell a lie, except when I am untruthful
If I never cry, except when the tears begin to fall
If I only love in my dreams, afraid to make the call
If I hide behind the mask, never to show myself
Then....I don't want to know how the story ends...

If we only hope for beautiful memories
If we never take a chance, only waiting instead
If we never step out from behind the shadows
If we never take the step into the light
Then....I don't want to know how the story ends...

If we only hope to have the love we deserve
If everyone else sees the sunshine, has the good
While I only see the rain, and only the pain
If everyone has the love, and she has you
Then... I don't want to know how the story ends...

Inside I die a little each day; yet I want to live
Inside I want to laugh, and show the world
Inside I have so much to give; I don't want to hurt
Inside I keep this broken heart deep...inside
Then... I don't want to know how the story ends...

I want to live my life...I want to sing and laugh
I want to feel the sunshine, cling to the clouds
I want to hear the words that you want me to hear
Inside, I want to live and not hide or cry...
Then... I don't want to know how the story ends...

If we were meant to crawl into the darkness
Let the stranger inside take us over, drain us
If we were meant to die inside, never see the light
If we were meant to wither into a shell of despair
Then... I don't want to know how the story ends...

Hi Linda, I was reading this piece written 32 months ago, and still feel your hurting. You are a very angelic person. It is an honor to know you so late in my lifetime. I pray your story ends with peace, happiness, a long healthy life, and love from a godly person. Stay sweet always.

GOD BLESS YOU

Linda:

You are so insightful and have expressed so well in your poem. I have read and read and digest each line you have written. You are one tough lady and your strength comes though each line.

Lots of love to you,

Sandie Angel :o)

Mrs. Linda,

You have rendered one very touching poem with deep feeling. Just love the 3rd and 4th stanza, a beautiful poem within it's self. You do have
a touch with words and make them come alive with feeling.

Luv ya.......Donnie

Linda...a writing with such depth of the emotional stages of a lonely heart!
These words have shaken my soul deeply!
Maybe these words of yours will crack the shell...of the lonely, enough they may see some light! Your title is perfect!

Wow Linda you're outdone yourself with this one. It's magnificant. As I was reading it I kept thinking, yes, yes, yes! And Karla is right on, it does flow like a song, just as all good poetry should.
Hugs, Marcia~

Oh Linda,
Genuine people with a caring heart like you, deserve a story with a happy ending, no more sadness no longer feeling blue. Excellent thought provoking piece.

Stay happy sweet lady, your friend Stuart

The next to last stanza without the ending is the path to follow for happiness sake.

That last stanza... There would be nothing to live for, if that was the case... But how often do I/we hold ourselves back for fear... fear of being hurt, unloved, loved, everything...
Your words hit a mark with me.
Thank you,
Cryssa
