Words, I Need Words!

Want to write

but the words…

the words are not coming.

I sense an urge to write something

To say something

yet feel no longing

for that which I may not have

nor sense an urge to praise that which I do have.

As I’m now what

most reading this

would consider as old.

Possibly my age,

possibly my age may vanish the thoughts

of words from my mind

or of the sensations that,

when younger,

would please or plague my heart

as I now have the love I desire

as I know I am loved

as she knows she is loved

as sex is no longer an issue

as fear of the lack of finances

are no longer uppermost

within the thoughts

that on past nights would cause me to lie awake.

Health, other than what comes with advancing age,

at least for now,

not an issue.

Love where I live,

desirous of being in no other place.

So what is on my mind?

So what so bothers me at this time?

What?

Want to write

but words…

the words are not coming.

Tell us all aboutthis new love and life you are living Markie. Love changes us and fills us and some of us like to read about the happiness of others. I love your work.

Hmmm what about going for a walk you have never been to before--- or write with a different paper and pen--- listen to a form of music you have never listened to before -- just an idea on my part

You're an awesome writer, Mark. Every writer experiences the blockage you're going through...the words will come, my friend! Enjoy the serenity while your muse is not shoving at you...giggle...

That's strange, because you're one of the wordiest writers I know with your over-the-top descriptions of people's emotions in your books. On the other hand, I think you're not actually talking about words, but about ideas to write about.

I haven't reached that point yet. I seem to have two or three ideas always waiting to be written and no time to write them, even though I'm retired and have all the time in the world.

That's because you are contented in your life, there's no need to rant, vent, or seek for love (you already have it), and you don't need to get a bigger house, or bigger cars, or.... what many others are still striving for in life. When you are where you want to be, you are at peace within yourself. Peace is a beautiful serenity, it speaks without having to say anything. I'm glad for you.
