Cat paws thunder
across the carpet.
the morning stillness
lies quivering, torn.
Mortal combat
is underway--
life and death is play--
my furry children
like it that way.
Oh, well...
at least they eat
the murdered flies.

Okay, I had to stop by and read this one. As a cat lover myself, you've got these furry creatures down to a pat.

HA...must have some big cats! :) ("cat paws thunder/across the carpet...") really enjoyed this...great write...been cat sitting this past week, poor little kitty's been in heat, wants to "play," she saw something outside this morning, ran to every single window in the apartment, meowing like crazy...i wouldn't let her out, especially since the "something" was a SKUNK!! :0 thanks for my >grins < for the day...love this! (((HUGS))) and love, karla. :)
