That swing, there in the distance
on a slight hill, a short walk away
I've only seen it empty . . .
I love to swing!
When I was young, I'd swing on a vine
Flying out over old country roads.
In the serenity garden at my homeplace
The swing is the first place I seek
Swinging as my eyes wander, my ears enjoy. . .
I like to swing high
Seeing how far I can see, yet coming back home
Feeling the cool air, the freedom of flight.
Come, let's go swing! I know that you're tired
I'll swing the swing, you can just rest
All you need do, is just touch my hand...

higher...a reckless abandon...a momentary freedom from self and
the world below. Thanks for this reminder, Glenda. -gene.

I like the extra spaces in this poem-- that's for swinging out-- and then the clumped lines-- that's coming home. --Charlie
