Somebody Call, 9-1-1

A maze of headlines; Interrupting my mood-
It was peaceful until-
Until the bombs came crashing through -
and the starlet ran over an innocent
driver-
Another terror plot foiled before my eyes-
Where does it stop?
Or does it, I cry!
Is this what the world will be like
for the next generation too?
Even my horoscope told me to duck-
Duck and dodge the proverbial shit being
slung back and forth between
the candidates of Two… Thousand
and Eight-
and for just one second, I had my own
thought-
and I damn well liked how it felt-
but then…
just as fast as it came, it was
gone again-
Replaced by the nasty weather report,
that nobody believes until they see it
for themselves anyway-
Where is the sanity of the season?
I’ve lived long enough to know that I’d
rather be horse whipped than live through
another election year-
It’s Halloween personified-
a real nightmare come true -
A time when the fangs appear- and the blood
spills on every porch-
And you begin to question
your neighbor’s political intentions-
Why the red car?
Why is the house blue?
Really now?  Are all those headlines
something I really need to know?
Minute by minute account of how  high
my fuel bill is gonna’ go?
Can’t I just be surprised, when I get it
in the mail?  Or does the
media get some kind of weird enjoyment
out of watching me turn pale?
Somebody tell me please, Where
does it all end?
This maze of headlines and interruptions-
Chasing my own lost thoughts-
Cramping from the overload-
Tax rate hikes; Power surges and troop
counts too-
Somebody call 9-1-1, this world is
in deep doo-doo

you know this is the way of this world
and the problem for me is you can no longer say is it getting better or worse.....bad the doings of this world we live in
truly
we may have our good moments
but their is always some who are enslaved, mistreated, killed, raped
their are always groups that are starving, forgotten, ignored
always those who thought/think superior
middle passage i could go on and on and on

"Somebody Call 9-1-1 really lays it on the line what this world has become. It is truly a nightmare scene out of some dramatic play featuring chaos. You've captured it well in your poem.

You are right, Lisa, when you say "this world is in deep doo-doo". The only way out is for each individual to get a shovel and begin working to clean up the mess we've made.

Love & Light always and in all ways,

I heard a person just the other day make the following statement; "what is this world coming to!" Without thinking my thoughts spilled from my lips and I was given some peculiar looks when I stated; "To an end!" Powerful write my friend enjoyed this much, you've nailed many topics that are pressing down on many today. Great write!

WOW! First time here and you blew me away with this poem. Powerful? You bet! One thing you did not touch on "specifically," and that's what to do with that "white" house and people in that dang kitchen place called "cabinet." Need I say more than this was "really" a whirlwind trip and my mind kept racing through this entire masterpiece.
Thanks so much,
George

deep doo doo, indeed, Lisa, God help us all!!!!!!!!! Man will never learn, will they? Even so, come Q U I C K L Y, Lord Jesus...and turn off the TV!!!!!! The baby sitter with 52 inch eyes is poisoning us into slow suicide................and taking our innocence along with it.

A P O W E R F U L, powerful write, excellently penned: one feels the terror, the hopelessness, the cutting off of vital signs-------flatline spot ON!!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

I share your concern Lisa, for we do appear to have gotten ourselves into a mess. But when you look back at history, it is only the past repeating itself, and we still have not learned. The question is will it ever? Yes it will, someday all will be healed.

Lets all pan together and NO One show up at the polls, and then when they plaster that all over the media we can retaliate!

The media intercedes with the works of governmental psychology, keeping us preoccupied, so they think, in order for us to focus on stupid "stuff" instead of the real "stuff", then we get so sick and tired of listening, we turn it off, disinterested, while greed and power run it course... and in the end, the ones running the show, are the ones who had enough money to pay of the reporters...
My take on things...
Thought-provoking write!
Love and Peace~

NS, Lisa, and the media is turning it all into a big three-ring circus while we are all held captive by a bunch of insane clowns and the tigers sit perched ready to pounce down on us. What ever happened to living one day at a time? Geez I am already so upset about what might happen in 2000 years when global warming turns our world into a desert, or will it cause great floods and storms as all the vegetation releases its steam and forms billowing clouds? Exactly when was it when speculation started being regarded as facts that we just couldn't be allowed to live without?...and elections...the parties are as bad as Wal-mart with their "getting a jump on the season." I have had enough!! The media can sing their songs to someone else, I have stopped watching television and I don't even listen to my radio in my car anymore. Great poem, Lisa!!
Take care,
Sherry
