Souls eternal light

warming our hearts

as they beat their 

aria of  love

Soothing cool breeze

of the Holy Spirit

calms us as we 

prepare for  slumber and rest

Holy wisdom whispers

Rest in my words of

faith and serene peace

Jesus puts his hand 

on our mouth

Then our eyes

and ears and says

Tonight I bless

your ears to hear 

the cries of the poor

I bless your eyes 

to see all people are sacred

I bless your mouth so 

you will say words that encourage

and provide hope to those in pain

As you sleep I will place 

my love within you

Yes, you already have my 

love but I will put ablaze

your heart and soul 

There is much love to give

forgiveness and faith

But for now sleep my beloved

You are my delight

We whisper and smile

Good night Jesus

Then slowly close our eyes

knowing Jesus will watch over us with care
