My wife is very loving and romantic but when she is feeling pensive she likes to go for a walk. Somethimes the walks are very long and I get worried. This poem contains many thoughts for my wife.
Woman, Where Art Thou?
I have sought you in my house But you were nowhere to be found.
I sought you at the neighbors
But they said you were not around.
In shops where I have beckoned
An audience there had formed,
A fool I made myself to be,
But they knew you were adored.
I worry as I search the world
For fear I may be alone.
As dusk approaches and the night
My words I now bemoan.
Come back my love forgive me please,
I cannot live without.
Your tender love instills within
A faith I cannot doubt.
Alone atop the hill we’ve climbed,
So many times before,
To watch the sun arise and set
For romance and to adore.
But now alone I watch the moon,
A tear rolls down my cheek.
You’ve left me for a word I fear
And now my future’s bleak.
What to my ears a sound is heard?
Tis sobbing on the rise.
I follow the sound to find my love
The moonlight on her eyes.
I thought you left me for a word,
My heart broke, so she said.
I searched the world and found you not
To this hill my heart was lead.
We now embrace before the moon,
And realize our love,
Is stronger than a word misplaced,
It’s given from above.
