Lives were lost
And our pain separated time
As though a sullen air
Found our bodies groping
After September 11th
The memories of victims
With fated tragedies
Recalls our fallen tears
And arms with sweat
Behind a dust of amber haze
It is an uncrushed silence
Which sits beneath empty embraces
And unfulfilled dreams
As though a lonely cry is heard
By others who lie beneath
Though we all desired peace
Their lives seemed to end
With fire and strife
As we had hope for love
But we got nothing..
