Yes, there are too many impoverished places right here in the USA. We don't need to go to far to see folks right next door sleeping in their cars. Then other folks drown their sorrows during the Christmas Holidays in dark and dreary bars. So HAVE A MERRY Christ-mas! Amen!

I've had occasion to travel into and even worked in a "rough" neighborhood. Generally I found the people in these neighborhoods very much like the people anywhere else, except perhaps, they knew their neighbors in their neighborhood better than most. I never had a bad experience in some of these places where some people would say that they would, "never go."

That was a wonderful thing to do for those battered women and their children. It's too bad that the tradition had to be dropped after a few years. I'm surprised at just one of the businesses didn't pick it up and continue it.
