Mr.Needle does an excellent job bringing us along on his adventures as a Peace Corps In the 1960s. It’s a unique perspective, a “snapshot” of historical significance. He was assigned to Nang Rong, a rural part in Thailand where he is to teach English to students at the school. This is very interesting being as he only speaks basic Thai himself.
Many times I laughed out loud his exploits, cheered his triumphs (like learning to make cake ) and sympathized in his difficulties in adjusting to a new culture. My mother had moved us to Korea when I was 11, and it was an adjustment living in a big city, being in a rural area must be way more difficult. I have no negative things to say about this book.
I almost would like him to write a second one on his adjustment coming back to the United States after his Peace Corps assignment. I found that after two
Years in Korea, it was harder to readjust to life in the US than adjusting to Korea. It would be interesting to know that side of the story.

I found the surrealistic juxtaposition of the 17th century artist and the poet in a strip club very creative and telling of your own artistic ability. Very original and full of striking images that became quite easily understood. Good storytelling that was even better when you read it.

Interesting history and a good presentation. 'David with the Head of Goliath' was a favorite of mine of his work. The light and shadow in it is very effective (IMO). Enjoyed this narrative verse. Thanks for sharing. rlc
