What a wonderful way to clear writer's block! By simply at empty pages and thinking, 'is that me?' Hell, no, and out comes your muse. Great write.

won't be seeing anymore umbrellas on the beach I go to all the time in NJ...the summer is a past memory...still though its fun to walk on MY beach every season of the year...I like this, to the point, short and shows meaning...ed

They'd probably tell the sunbathers to wear more clothes!
This brings the setting to the mind's eye so well.
Their stories would be fascinating. Just think, they are near when people are relaxed, their guard down. That's when secrets are revealed.
I particularly like the description, "Sentinels in the wind defying sunburn's reach"
