Charlene Wexler is the best author out there for observing the foibles and the funny of life. I love this book!

Charlene Wexler has done it again. She has created a compilation of short stories and essays that is extremely relatable for people of all ages. The book is broken into five categories: Coming of Age; Family and Friends; Animal Magnetism; Passing Parade; and Senior Moments. The stories of life and love made me laugh and cry and drove me to recall prolific moments in my own life or simply get caught up and lost in Charlene’s descriptive creativity and story-telling abilities. She first wowed me with her first short fiction stories compilation Milk and Oranges and she has now done it again. These timeless tales will be something I will read over more than once in my lifetime as I will be able to reflect on them differently throughout life’s many stages. Kudos to another fantastic literary effort Charlene Wexler - Elephants in the Room is a great read!

Scientific studies show that the female brain works better in warmer temps, while the male brain works better when it's cold. I don't mind paying for AC, but I hate paying for heat. I say, if your cold,put on some more clothes. If my wife would let me, the thermostat would never go above 60 degrees in the winter. That's just about perfec tfor me.

A very informative and humorous article. I laughed at almost every line. I am a quadriplegic and have severe temperature control problems. I am not married, but I have had some disagreements with my partner and my caregivers. They have become accustomed to my complaints, and therefore manage my clothing and bedcovers very well. I find commercial air conditioning like being in a refrigerator.

A wonderful human encounter well expressed.
I am your age and in an electric wheelchair for the past 25 years. I still drive and often find myself in waiting rooms alone. Even before, when I could still pick up and hold a magazine, like on a plane, I was always annoyed when the passenger in the next seat had his/her nose in a book, magazine or laptop computer, seemingly self engrossed rather than even say, "Hello."
Over the years of initiating conversations and even going so far as join someone eating alone for dessert, I've met some fascinating people with fascinating stories. Young people these days tied up in their computer games or conversation with peer friends on the cell phone have no idea what kind of education they can get from engaging conversation with others.

I agree. It seems like my short-term memory is starting to play tricks. And my little voice says, "Did you do that?" And I really can't remember if I did or not. Some of it comes from all of the added distractions that technology brings into our lives. These distractions require focus. Since most of us can only focus on one thing at a time, in spite of what we think we can do, we tend to forget even the most obvious. That little voice, when we are in a calmer situation, remembers for us.
