A great little article on one specific Model T Ford with quite a history and more than ever wanted to know about the car. ;-) Viola must have been quite a woman mechanic keep that car running until 1963.
I'm more familiar with Model As, but did go hunting with a high school friend in his grandfather's Model T pickup in 1960. Quite an adventure.

I read with interest your very well written and easy to read personal view of your life and sexism. The article is well-timed with the recent court cases involving celebrities and people in high position who have used their power to gain sexual favors from women. Much of this activity has been criminal and kept under wraps way too long.
I was assigned a troubled young man during my last years of employment. He started cross-dressing and raised a lot of eyebrows. As a result, when I retired, my division was abolished and he was fired. After that he had a great deal of difficulty getting work and eventually changed his name from Robert to Rachyl.
I hope a lot of people read this article because it's quite instructive and accurate… Especially the history.

A well-written article. Men and women are different in many ways. That's why a marriage can work so well. The complementary abilities of both the man and the woman in the relationship make the couple more powerful in society than the individuals alone.
Societal mores and religious teachings seem to strictly define the roles of men and women. Also the role of what is "normal." Asperger's syndrome is not considered "normal" by society. Even though many with the syndrome have exceptional abilities that are just being learned. And those that have gender conflicts like transgender and gay people, society has problems associating with, unfortunately.
I am heterosexual male with a physical disability. Perhaps that allows me to be more accepting than most of genetic and personality differences (not defects to be cured) that enrich our society and do no harm. I am really distressed with all the fervor over bathrooms here in Texas. I think it's ridiculous to spend so much time on a nonissue when there are really serious issues like global warming that need to be addressed immediately.

You touched upon many truths separate and apart from the both issues just by being you. I would be remiss if I didn't read your story.

Interesting reading. I would say your biggest challenge was not being transgender, but your Asperger’s syndrome. That you were able to overcome that obstacle and find employment and marriage possible, is an achievement in itself.
Kaitlyn Jenner has certainly come on the scene in a big way and challenged conventional thinking in this regard. I supervised a transgender young man for several years. While I struggled with some of his antisocial behavior, I didn't know he was transgender until pointed out by other employees. He didn't change his name and dress until he was fired. I believe he was fired because of his behavior and had been relegated to me because others knew that I would tolerate him.

We can hope that if we kiss them, they will turn into princes. I like frogs. Their legs are very tasty. When I was a teenager, my grand parents rented a house on a small farm. Behind the barn was a small barnyard that led to a natural pond surrounded by trees. That pond was certainly "frog heaven," for I saw many frogs there enjoying their surroundings.
Much later I built a dream home overlooking a three-acre pond created by a dam. That pond contained some of the largest bass I've ever seen and I found myself frightening huge bullfrogs on the pond's edge. Those frog legs would rival chicken legs at the Colonel's Fried Chicken!

A very interesting and informative article. Personally, I believe that while our karma does not transcend our lives, it is ingrained in our human DNA. And it is messy. Why so many lead such conflicted lives between good and evil. I prefer discovering the good life and living it. I cannot change anything by living this life badly in some hope that I will lead a better life in another. This life is the only one I have and I should use it for good while I have it.
