Dreams of Mom and Reflections on Mother's Day (Short Story) - 4/26/2014 10:00:30 AM
Thanks for sharing your dreams of your mother with us. My mother is still alive, but I've not seen her since 2011 and can no longer communicate with her since last December. She has real communication problems with aphasia and is now, nearly deaf. She also can no longer operate her beloved computer emails since she entered an assisted living home.
I don't like to get her things for Mother's Day because she can no longer have a place for them in her small shared room. I also don't like to get cards because I can write a poem or letter to her that has much more meaning. If I can get my stubborn sister to work with me, I hope to join her in a session soon on FaceTime on her new laptop (my sister got it for her but she was unable to use it) with my helper's iPad. While I am talking to her, my voice will dictate on my large iMac screen, captions, so she may be able to read what I'm saying.
I also recently posted 400 of her recipes in her own handwriting on my website. Family members have been appreciative of my sharing them.
