Some wonderful thoughts for Christmas.
Harking back to the way it was back in those good old days. My father was a trucker who made very good money but was never satisfied with the money or his job. He was constantly buying new things and trying to keep up with the Joneses. We lived in a bad neighborhood with bad children and their parents all around. My mother not only had to keep up with deficit financing, she had to do all the cooking and cleaning with every new appliance that dad could buy for her. Still, she had to work as a cleaning lady to earn enough for getting us some meager Christmas presents.
Overhanging it all was the threat of impending nuclear war.

Your poem comes from your heart and your experience.
As for the formatting. Try some things. The AD editor does not like some Microsoft Word formatting. When you paste in your poem, try turning off the editor (there is a link in the center for doing that). If that doesn't work, try saving your poem not as a document (.doc) but by using Save As, and save it as text (.txt) or rich text format (.rtf). The AD editor should except those formats without messing with them.

This is a great observation awareness poem. The periscope goes up at the red light. All eyes on deck. One mistake could change a life. We have an awesome responsibility and lives are at stake. Then again it's fun to people watch. I sometimes check out the sports cars. Life at the light can be interesting. Happy driving! LOL

It shows great fortitude not to abandon someone near their last breath. I'm not sure about all the questioning in the poem, though. Why isn't there acceptance of death's coming? Why blame the person dying?

Because once that goodbye has been said after their physical body is gone, then we have admitted to our own selves that they are truly passed and there's no coming back. Now reality sets in. Once we speak that final Goodbye, its almost like we have nothing left to say. My humble opinion and perception.
