Shoelaces (Poetry) - 5/14/2016 9:01:29 AM
Yes, learning things is difficult at first, and if what you have learned comes unraveled, it is doubly difficult to go back and learn it again right.
I don't remember struggling to tie my shoe laces. But perhaps I did and that's why I always go back and retry when things get unraveled. And, there are times when I know I'll never become a shoelacer and pursue other avenues. ;-)

Shoelaces (Poetry) - 5/14/2016 4:10:59 AM
Suzy, great analogy. I am afraid many go through life never getting their shoelaces tied, always loose, undone dragging along on the ground. I have those days. I guess that is why I love my Crocs, just slip em on and go, but you have to keep an eye on them as the soles wear out quickly and one can slip very easily and boy have I slipped a time or two.
Maybe I should just go bare foot, ha!

Taking shoelaces to the next level and comparing them with human emotions is very creative.

A vivid memory of what it was like to face the storm and take it all in. I felt like I was there with you, hanging on.

The Golden Mile (Poetry) - 4/28/2016 9:33:18 AM
Could be an Indian/Pakistani community anywhere or in one of those countries.
While I was in a brief stay in Karachi my host took me to lunch in a suburb where the street looked right out of a Western US movie with a boardwalk of establishments with a rail out front to tie your horse, camel, donkey or goat to. Inside was a Chinese restaurant with the menu clearly written in English. Some of the best Chinese food I ever ate.
