Amboy and Tallahatchie (Short Story) - 7/28/2017 5:49:18 AM
I must say that I was entranced with this interlude between kids very much. Made me want to see how this friendship blossomed. I certainly like phraseology like, "… Handy like a small pot."It could be a cliché in some parts of the country, but I never heard or read it before. Ron

The Solomon Grundy Bridge (Short Story) - 9/23/2016 11:57:35 AM
Absolutely loved this. Is there more? Great original writing. Bravo! Simon

The Solomon Grundy Bridge (Short Story) - 9/19/2016 4:33:22 AM
After I looked for Solomon-Grady and Abiqua Creek, finding only the creek existing in Oregon and being a rather short and small one at that, I realized that such a place was truly fiction. Still, from all the references regarding what happened off the bridge, I have a real strong feeling that as a young man, Borne Wilder participated in such great shenanigans and contributed greatly to the pollution in the creek below. ;-) You certainly wove a likely tale that small town America can identify with in many ways. Both your character development and use of phrases like, "filthy with clowns," endear me to your writing ability. Although the ending is left wide open with no real exciting twist, it is a rock solid story that I enjoyed greatly. Ron

The Solomon Grundy Bridge (Short Story) - 9/18/2016 11:16:55 PM
A great story told with all the right nuances a storyteller has up his sleeve--sort of like a car salesman's irresistible pitch. I'm left pondering whether Thaddeus will dive off the Solomon Grundy Bridge one of these days.

The Tramp-Stamp of Regret (Short Story) - 6/4/2016 5:12:12 PM
Damn, what a description of getting old and the value of a good blow job.

Too Much Salt (Short Story) - 6/4/2016 4:55:38 PM
Interesting story. I see your point and wonder if it doesn't fit someone we both know. Do what you do best and to hell with the critics.

Too Much Salt (Short Story) - 5/24/2016 12:20:12 AM
And, those writers who end up conforming ruin their original recipe by watering it down. Your story is a testament for writers to guard their secret recipe, even if it curries favor to few.

Too Much Salt (Short Story) - 5/23/2016 5:55:38 AM
I wrote it about pretentious literary agents in their early twenties, who decide what is and isn't "book-worthy" based on what they learned from a few classes in college, not life. Who refuse to read manuscripts because the spacing wasn't per their submission guidelines, or the email wasn't headed properly. It was basically a jab at those who decide what the consumer shall consume and those who consider cloned YA plots to be actual literature. (If a bait and switch were added, it could be applied to the ruler elite of the GOP and DNC.)

Too Much Salt (Short Story) - 5/23/2016 4:19:41 AM
A great allegory of the writer's dilemma. Like anything else, it's a popularity contest where name recognition counts more than quality of work. Why some chefs are multimillionaires and others are flipping burgers in McDonald's. Ron

Death of a Metaphor (Short Story) - 5/21/2016 7:34:54 AM
I wouldn't know the forest for the trees, but I think I got the point of your story. The beast was fear of failure at a party and the prey was some idiot with bad manners. If I'm wrong don't blame me. I've never read Emily Post, although I've had a few young ladies try to beat it into me. ;-) Comparatively, this is a superlative write. Ron

Slingblade Meets Game of Thrones (Short Story) - 5/14/2016 7:26:31 AM
I likes the ways you writes about the ways these guys talks. Kewl… Ron

A girl named Krystle, or Tiffany with a “Y” (Poetry) - 5/17/2016 2:11:29 AM
Some very atmospheric, well written and descriptive lines here... It certainly captured the imagination... Diana...

A girl named Krystle, or Tiffany with a “Y” (Poetry) - 5/13/2016 3:44:53 PM
I see you have been in the same dank, smelly places I have been. Sad that I thought it was fun at the time. Reminds me of a time I would like to forget. Great job in expressing the feelings most of us had.

A nice little walk on the seamy side of life. Like Jerry says, lots of little gems in this knowing slice of life amid the beat of the night. Ron

A girl named Krystle, or Tiffany with a “Y” (Poetry) - 5/13/2016 4:01:47 AM
Oh boy! Loved this bit of insider thoughts and feelings in this walk among the past. So many fantastic lines within this little short poem, I guess this one is my favorite . . . "Where sweaty money falls like rain" Yep, indeed it does that.

A Documented Robin (Poetry) - 5/12/2016 5:48:25 PM
Mr. Mink nailed it. It's just an abstract about belief and faith.

lazy thinking (Poetry) - 5/12/2016 5:36:38 PM
This one I must ponder for a time.

A Documented Robin (Poetry) - 5/12/2016 5:35:11 PM
Sort of leaves itself open for you to decide what is happening. Interesting to say the least, leaves room for all kinds of thoughts, any way one wishes to interpret it.

Bet I Don't Grow Old (Poetry) - 5/12/2016 5:31:15 PM
Wow, you may just be a better poet than a novelist. I really liked this one, it gets to a man my age. Makes me look ahead and wonder what is left.

lazy thinking (Poetry) - 5/12/2016 9:35:10 AM
We might think that… Indeed. For a is much easier to just let lazy thinking rule the day. Ron

lazy thinking (Poetry) - 5/12/2016 4:29:02 AM
Thank you.

lazy thinking (Poetry) - 5/12/2016 4:20:32 AM
"But nothing ever remains unchanged" That's very true! For other than God's word, given the time all else will be changed! Thanks for sharing!

Bet I Don't Grow Old (Poetry) - 5/11/2016 2:27:46 PM
Thanks for the feedback.

Bet I Don't Grow Old (Poetry) - 5/11/2016 2:02:05 PM
5-11-2016 Sadly If You Could Go Back Do It All Over again It Would Be No Different Than Before...You'd Waste Your Time Trying Figure Why You Screwed Up To Begin With! I Am Realist Not Idealist! TRASK....

Bet I Don't Grow Old (Poetry) - 5/11/2016 6:33:01 AM
A very good example why youth is wasted on the young. While beautifully written, your poem strikes home hard! Ron

Bet I Don't Grow Old (Poetry) - 5/10/2016 2:08:40 PM
Absolutely! One hundred percent! I relate!

A Documented Robin (Poetry) - 5/10/2016 7:43:39 AM
The last two lines offer the desired twist--I think?--But I'm not sure where your story is leading. It doesn't have to rhyme to be a poem, but it would help if it made sense. Ron

A Documented Robin (Poetry) - 5/10/2016 3:03:00 AM
Interesting, to say the least. Kept me mesmerized for sure.
