You consumed 608 pages describing gray aliens! Now that is quite a feat! You certainly would be pornifying them. But then, there is a rich legacy of this kind of story going back to ET. I am more with Arthur C Clarke on this matter.
My first novel on first contact includes a very broad sweeping description of the extraterrestrials. I had no way of describing them in detail, so I focused on their capabilities, far exceeding ours.
