While the introduction in this book essentially repeats the introduction to the other book I looked at, the excerpt is different and appreciated.
While I expect that the author's intent was to show that skin color/hair didn't matter, it's possible from the short excerpt that this study's conclusions could be an apology for racism. Everyone knows that appearance makes a difference. Good-looking people seem to always have higher social status than people who are perceived not to be as good-looking. I'm sure there are sociological studies that prove that good-looking people get much further in life than those that are not.
Biologists know that natural selection in all species, including human, results from pairings of the strongest/best looking, to ensure a stronger gene pool. They also have proven that opposites are necessary couplings to ensure a stronger gene pool.
Social mores try to contradict biological urges. They don't always succeed.

I believe you were on to something when you wrote these monographs and your dissertation back in the 1980s. The magnitude of white slave owners' cohabitation with women of all colors and social status is something that appears to have been hidden from history and needs to be revealed for what it really was.
Unfortunately, your description is very repetitive, uses sociological jargon in place of normal English and doesn't get to the heart of the matter with any examples taken from historical records. The excerpt just repeats the description rather than showing your writing ability beyond the introductory comments. One of the reasons the general public does not pay attention to scientific studies is that they are written in stilted language that most people tire of trying to read and understand.
