Medically, tobacco leads to cancer, and if not cancer, suffering like emphysema for those who have a lifelong habit, affecting their retirement years greatly and usually leading to early death. Nicotine is one of the hardest habits to kick, while probably the most attractive for young people trying to look "cool," like role models that they see from either peers or stars. Education and appropriate regulations are necessary to prevent mass addiction for the unwary.
Alcohol can be beneficial if consumed in small quantities. The problem with alcohol is that with certain compulsive people, alcohol becomes an addiction. Alcohol is the number one killer of people. Although I don't have the exact statistics. Alcohol is also expensive, like tobacco, and destroys family life more than any other substance other than opioids of the opium derivatives.
Marijuana is the most benign of vices. And is very attractive to young people. I have experienced students using marijuana and found that their ability to reason and to focus on difficult questions and research, generally falls off. While their creativity may increase momentarily, they often have delusions of doing things never carried out. More research on THC's effects on the brain need to be studied. Smoking marijuana is like smoking cigarettes. Harmful to the lungs.
I am in favor of legalizing and taxing all forms of escapism, including cocaine and heroin. As long as there are strict educational warnings from legitimate studies and regulations that prevent organized crime from benefiting from the foolhardy addictions that people are often stupidly drawn into.
We all pick our poisons. The biggest poison affecting people these days is conspicuous consumption. Buying or consuming more than we need. Leads to obesity, hoarding, debt and massive destruction of the environment. We are sheeple and children, justifying our habits that we really know are self-destructive.

People with photographic memory and spelling bee champions (mostly very young and Asian) are the only ones who know the meaning and spelling of words like this. Not many of us are interested in viewing the entrails of sacrificed animals these days. We have new words that we make popular every day, and then, abandon when they are no longer popular.
Like I always say when I don't know a Greek word like Haruspec… "It's Greek to me!"

I agree with you. Religion seems to naturally come from the human desire to explain the unknown. Spirituality is a way of explaining it, the wonder of life and death. Why we are here? This innate spirituality becomes a cult when it is institutionalized with powerful figures who claim to know more about the particular tenets of the cult than followers. These founders create, usually a written treatise (authoritarian bullshit), that creates the institution and perpetuates the power of the leaders.

I looked up James Morcan & Lance Morcan to find that they are prolific authors like you and I and not known for doing research on any particular subject, but writing on many broad ranging subjects that they apparently research like you do.
Dr. Takaaki Musha is apparently involved in a Japanese research organization delving into theories of quantum physics and their possible application to spacecraft. Lance Morcan apparently has relied heavily on Dr. Takaaki Musha's writing for his books. They are probably collaborators.
Similar to eyewitness accounts in criminal justice, I immediately reject human visual sightings of something "unidentified," as not being a valid assumption that they are extraterrestrial or that they have antigravity propulsion. There are certainly experiments in physics that seem to defy gravity, but they are only on a very small scale at present.
I do think that in due time, researchers on earth like Dr. Takaaki Musha may come up with practical experiments and/or proof of one antigravity theory or another, leading to some way to have matter repulsed rather than attracted. From my viewpoint, why would any extraterrestrial withhold knowledge from us? Are we not intelligent enough to receive it? Perhaps that is the only reason. Not because we haven't done your research and have your insight? But because they're not here to do it, or they would. Why mess around with a bunch of primitive people for so long as to be "ancient" in our eyes? Like many conspiracy and science fiction propositions… Poppycock!
It is obvious that Lance and James Morcan write books to subjects that sell. Just like the two TV series I've been watching, The UnXplained and Contact, rehashing old stories, coming up with new conclusions, but no actual proof of anything other than a titillating come on so that this series can continue or can come back in another form, going over the same old stories. Who cares why the widow Winchester continued to build on her mansion in fear of her husband's return? Not I.

In this story from a fictional report by a William Cooper, a man whose credentials were not given, but possessed a great understanding of government function and documents, perhaps from perusing them. I see a beautifully spin doctored account of all of the conspiracy theories from the 1948-1953 period that is covered so well by stating real documents "uncovered" from long secret files, etc.
I am totally impressed with the number of ships found and the number of aliens, alive and dead, accounted for. These must have come from out of the underground magazines and pamphlets from the time that were like reading paperback novels or scandal sheets claiming to know everything about everybody that way for us at the grocery store checkout counter. Today the Internet is full of this bull shit. Very authoritative stuff that really is utter fiction.
Because it is written does not make it true. He was writing to an audience. The truth doesn't sell. Sensationalism does. You were/are his audience. I'm not.

There is nothing special about this story. It's a common story. The fact that the person supposedly writing it does not want to be identified is a sure sign that it is fake. Sure, there are skeptics like me out there. But if someone wants to reveal the truth. They have to reveal the whole truth. Not hide behind anonymity.
There seems to be a big confusion about UFOs. What the acronym says is, Unidentified Flying Object. It doesn't say, Visitors from Outer Space. The reason these sightings are labeled UFO is simply that they're not identified. Most sightings are readily explained. My brother, a friend and I all observed a light in the western sky after sunset about 1957 that wandered around for a while in a seemingly random motion and then flew vertically straight up at incredible speed. To me then and to me now, it was an unidentified object. A friend of mine who observed space and air for the Air Force and NORAD, stopping the onset of nuclear war twice from false missile launches reported to the administration, won't even talk about UFOs because their team identified everything they saw on their instruments happening globally 24/7.
I have been watching both the UnXplained (William Shatner needs to retire, he's getting senile) and Contact. What I'm seeing is a bunch of re-warmed old stories with all that eerie voiceover and music to try to make them a little bit more interesting and palpable. I much prefer the science-based programs where we are really finding out new scientific information, not rehashing old myths, fears and beliefs.

For some reason, the word, "vetted," seems to have come to the fore recently. While I went through a security clearance investigation a very long time ago and got a clearance for my work, I don't recall the word ever being as prominent as it is now.

Lots of pictures of people and places. While all of the five children had stories, there are no recordings of them actually telling those stories, only a narration of the gist of those stories. Not even secondhand videos of people speaking who were related or knew the children. And where were the children, all grown up? Dead to be reincarnated again?
What this appears to be is a talking book of a fictional story, amply illustrated by related photos gathered from the Internet or other sources to make a nice, convincing story. I can't believe this was on a science program, because there is no science to it, just a story. I believe whoever wrote the story, knew that a lot of people would read it and believe. People are easily taken in by authoritative narratives, whether they are true or not. And pictures of cute kids are so believable because children are usually so innocent. We want to believe…

That was quite a confession about your misspent young adult life. But you need an editor even though the story was quite interesting to read, similar to a modern reality show. Sure glad I didn't live that way. But I did have the same obsession, cars and girls. Still do.
A 1958 Chevy chrome king? Another bad choice. 1957 was much better in many ways. But you are making bad choices in those days and maybe still are.
