A very unique way of telling a story. I liked it very much. I've lived here in Texas for 45 years. Every once in a while I run into one of those genuine Texans you described.
On our way to Arizona we spent the night in a motel in Lubbock, where Texas Tech is. As we sat in the free breakfast area, a strikingly beautiful blonde woman about 40, came into the room and worked it like an MC, making everyone feel like we were welcome in her town, her Texas state of mind, although she may have been only coming back for a reunion or Texas Tech event.
I know what you mean about this really genuine view of Texas that is rare in a big cosmopolitan city where I live, Houston.
